Transportation Museum

Roanoke is famous for their railroad system because back in the day they were a major hub for railroad transport. And really it seems like they still are because there is a large group of active rails that run through the town still to this day. And to recognize their place in railroad and transportation history in general, they have a Transportation Museum that we always knew we had to drop by at some point.
We walked to lunch at Cello again, and then made our way toward the museum, which is also downtown. Ahead of us was a tall lanky guy pushing an older guy in a wheelchair up the sidewalk. When they got to the corner the lanky guy left him there, and he asked us if we could continue pushing him toward his bus stop. He was a hefty dude and it wasn't easy getting him over all the cracks and curbs. I can only imagine how hard it would be for him to do it on his own. His stop was actually right in front of the T Museum, so it was a nice thing and didn't even cause us much inconvenience.
The museum had 3 main sections: a classic car area, a train yard, and an aviation room. There was a little bit about ships (apparently there were a few USS Roanoke vessels??) and other stuff like buses, but they were smaller areas. The best were the cars and trains. Even though it wasn't the most extensive or well-kept museum, it was definitely interesting enough for the time and cost.
