Back on the Road: New Orleans, Baby!

Nov 30, 2021 | New Orleans, LA

Packing up this time around was made a bit more intensive by the fact that we had to carry our stuff from our tiny home in the backyard all the way to the street. It doesn't seem like much to have to walk another 80 feet, but boy does it add up after a few dozen trips or so. Especially since our hosts had this rickety gate that we had to keep closed every time so the chickens/dogs didn't escape, and the fact that their side yard was covered in all these randomly sized/shaped stones that made you feel like you were going to roll your ankle every time you went through it. But we eventually got out of there!

Driving was mostly uneventful besides a pretty amazing sunset. It was long dark before we made it to our place in New Orleans, and we found out a couple days before hand that we were going to have to find our own parking solution. So we used some app to reserve a multi-night stay for our trusty Sorento in a nearby parking garage. The apartment itself was very modern and comfortable. Probably the most high-end place we had stayed in so far, but of course also the most expensive. No big deal for only a few days though.
