Ponce Preserve Nature Trail

Dec 13, 2021 | Daytona Beach, FL

We drove down south a bit to see what was going on around those parts. We drove all the way down to the Ponce Lighthouse and hiked various small trails nearby. We walked the Ponce Nature Preserve which was a really long wooden dock. It was built like a dock because it was a nature preserve, so they didn't want you walking all over the plants on the ground, so they had you walk above them instead. We saw a bunch of buzzards flying to and from some trees in someone's backyard, as well as lots of Spanish moss hanging down. The dock spit us out onto the river, so we turned and headed back.

We continued to drive around the area and ended up finding a tiny local bar/restaurant that we figured was only patronized by the local community since it wasn't kind of hidden. We didn't end up going there, but outside of it we saw some pretty murals. On the drive home we spotted these funny birds that were picking around in everyone's front yards.
