McKinney Falls

For breakfast we had some vegetable bao buns that Erika got fresh from the local Asian market, 99 Ranch.
After, we went to an outdoor area called McKinney Falls where there is swimmable water and some small waterfalls. On the walk down, we found a large golden orb weaver spider. It was almost the size of Erika’s palm. Brian brought the GoPro and got some swimming/underwater footage. We saw a turtle on a rock and Erika warned Brian to not get too close so it wouldn’t jump into the water with us. Brian did get too close, and it slid into the water and so we swam away. As we were leaving the falls, we looked down over the water we were just swimming in and actually saw a bunch of turtles swimming around. Some of which were really big, maybe about 1 foot long! Erika was beginning to not feel very well that day and in the coming 3 - 5 days both of us were quite sick. But after taking a covid test and getting a negative result, we’ll never know for sure what exactly got to us.
