Sculpture Falls

We went hiking to Sculpture falls. We parked in a nice neighborhood near the trailhead. The trail entrance sign warned of a toxic algae bloom and advised that no one may swim in the water. It seemed pretty serious so we were sure to be careful. The hike down was interesting since the trail had huge flat slabs of white rocks all over, making it kind of like an organic stairway. After hiking for a bit, we arrived at Sculpture Falls where the rocks were beautifully carved away by the water. We did some Googling to see if the algae bloom wouldn't affect us if we only put our feet in. It seemed fine, so we waded around in the water for a bit, hopping from smooth rock to smooth rock. At first, nobody else really seemed to be touching the water, but soon later, a guy jumped off of the top of the falls and unworriedly swam around for a while. We hiked around a bit more and eventually decided to get going before it got dark. We drove to a vegan restaurant that Erika had been wanting to eat at called The Beer Plant. They weren’t open yet so we had to wait about 10-15 minutes. The service wasn’t great and the waitress served Erika the wrong beer (which tasted pretty bad). Brian remedied the situation and we eventually got our food. It was fine, nothing too special, and didn’t warrant the higher-than-average prices. The End.
