Brewtorium & Yard Bar

We checked out a pop up market at the Brewtorium. Erika bought a couple handmade reusable pads and ate food from a food truck hilariously called The Rice is Right. It was awesome Korean food. She was even able to get vegan tteokbokki on a stick which was her first legit tteokbokki experience (not homemade, that is). She also got an incredibly tasty side of fried cauliflower as well as some egg rolls. Brian ordered a soft pretzel from the overly flamboyant beertender with a rough, scratchy voice who told him “you can’t quit me” at one point.
Later in the night we went to a place called Yard Bar. We thought it was just going to be some outdoor beer garden type of place, but it wasn’t. As soon as we arrived there was a booth to check in and we instantly realized that this was a dog bar. It cost extra to check your dog in and the place was surrounded by a chain link fence and a double gate entry so no dogs would escape. We debated on entering or not since we didn't have a dog, but we went ahead and went in anyways. There were so many dogs all over the place. Running, playing, etc. There were even workers there patrolling the area to stop any dogs from fighting or barking. There were fire bits and picnic tables with people everywhere. We sat at a fire pit along with some other people and eventually started talking with a gay couple next to us. They gave us tips on our travels, especially about New York. They told us we should go to Brunswick and that it is the new hip place to be. We continued chatting and hung out for a little while before saying our goodbyes and heading home.
