A Stroll About Town & COVID-19

Jan 05, 2022 | Atlanta, GA

We braved the cold and walked the short walk to our nearest downtown area in Little Five Points. There were bars, a couple restaurants, and plenty of great thrift/vintage shops. We headed straight to the clothing shops and Brian ended up buying a like-new pair of Reeboks. A woman was walking by us as he was carrying them out of the store and was very excited that he had bought himself some nice shoes. She jokingly asked Erika why she didn't get any new shoes and that's when we realized just how friendly the locals were in Atlanta.

Another local stopped us on the street to try and sell us copies of the Bhagavat Gita and other literature about the Hindu religious figure, Krishna. Her name was Dina and she was very sweet and personable so Erika ended up buying a book from her. Erika also got some info from her about a vegan bakery and café where they sometimes hosted a free vegan dinner.

Quite soon after popping into a few of the shops, Brian started to feel unwell. First he noticed an extreme drop in energy were it was nearly impossible to concentrate on anything. He thought that he was just hungry or that he was in need of a bit of coffee. So we left and went to a Mexican restaurant called Elmyr where we got burritos and margaritas. This actually did pep Brian up a bit, but he made the excuse of wanting to drop off the shoes he was carrying around so that he could head home and chug some coffee to try to get back to normal energy levels. Once again this worked temporarily, but it was only going to be downhill from here.
