Kaaterskill Falls

I had been meaning to check out Eggy's Place for awhile. It falls into a similar category as places like Texas Tavern, where they are old fashioned in aesthetic, service, and food. And by that I mean they are hokey, unhealthy and completely out of fashion, but also very interesting as a time capsule of sorts. And the guy running it was especially a character this time. He was like 60 years old with hentai girls clearly posted on the back wall of his truck. He also gave me my sandwich on credit because I didn't know it was cash only there. He said, "if $6.75 was gonna ruin me then I wouldn't be out here." He also had a lot to say about all kinds of things. Like apparently the prime minister of Canada is a "little weirdo". I asked him his name as a sign of respect for fronting me the breakfast, and he replied, "Eggy". Guess I shoulda known.
The main event of the day was going to Kaaterskill Falls. It was about an hour south in the Catskill Mountains region, which we had been wanting to see for a while since it's a fairly famous mountain range. If you're wondering why all the names have "kill" in them (many, many spots near here do), it's because in Dutch a kill is a body of water. And there is a strong Dutch settlement all throughout upper NY.
It turned out to be a pretty popular swimming spot, but we didn't anticipate that the weather would be so different over here. The combination of the wind, overcast clouds, and temp kept us out of the water this time. But we enjoyed the sights.
We figured we should check out a nearby town since we were in a new area. Erika had been watching a Youtuber recently who lived in Upstate NY and it turned out to be the city of Kingston which was in the Catskills area. She was an artist and seemed to speak fondly of the town. So we went there.
